Mixers

I look for two main things when choosing a mixer: durability and size. Will you be baking large cakes or big batches of cookies? In that case, a 5 or 6-quart mixer will be a better investment.

If you don’t bake too often or do mostly smaller bakes, then a hand-held mixer or 3.5-quart mixer should be fine. I’ve had just as much luck with affordable mixers as I have with big-brand mixers, but I try to use my affordable mixers less often than my heavy-duty mixers.

Cuisinart is a great brand, and this 5.5 quart stand mixer is a great value.

This is my favorite hand-held mixer.

BOSCH MUM6N10UC Universal Plus Stand Mixer, 800 watt, 6.5-Quarts

Bosch 6 Qt. Mixer

An awesome heavy-duty mixer in a large size for bigger bakes and repeat use.

Essential Baking Tools & Measuring Devices

If you are baking a lot, you don’t need to have multiples of the same tools, but rather, at least one of each tool that you love. I have my favorite whisks, measuring cups, etc, and I choose to use them every time I bake. This helps with consistency across all my bakes.

iSi Basics Measuring Set of 3 Silicone Flexible Mesauring Cup, Translucent

Silicone Liquid Measuring Cups

These are the only liquid measuring cups I use. You’ve probably seen me use them in my cake videos! They are flexible for easy pouring and provide easy-to-read measurements,

Cooptop 5 Piece Silicone Spatula Set - Rubber Spatula - 600°F Heat Resistant Baking Spoon & Spatulas (Teal/Aqua Sky)

Sturdy Silicone Spatulas

I own this affordable set of silicone spatulas. The color makes them easy to find, and they provide all the sizes you need. They are sturdy enough to make fruit compote cake fillings or mix homemade cinnamon roll dough by hand.

Kitchen Scale - Bakers Math Kitchen Scale - KD8000 Scale by My Weight, Silver

Baker’s Math Digital Scale

Using grams measurements with a Kitchen scale will guarantee that your baked goods come out consistent every time. I own two of these kitchen scales that have lasted a long time. I love the size and durability, but any affordable kitchen scale should work well in your baking recipes.

TILUCK measuring cups and magnetic measuring spoons set, 5 stainless steel measuring cups, 6 double-sided stainless steel measuring spoons & 1 leveler (5+7)

Measuring Cups and Spoons Set

Any measuring cups and measuring spoons set should work well in your baking, but I recommend a set that includes the smaller measurements, like 1/8 cup or 1/8 teaspoon. These are less common sizes, but you’ll be so happy you have them when they show up in a recipe.
